OUR ENVIRONMENT

In 2014 the idea of an Eco-Sanctuary at Living Springs was born. Several initiatives such as “The Allandale Stream Restoration project”, “Plant a Hundred Tōtara each year for 10 years” and ‘Predator Free Allandale” were started.  In 2021 Living Springs’ successful application to the Department of Conservation’s Jobs for Nature scheme meant the conservation efforts received a major boost.

Now over 55,000 native seedlings have been planted, a large pest control programme is underway and soon all waterways will be protected from livestock grazing. Large parts of the property are naturally regenerating.

Support through donations and volunteer labour are needed.  Ask the staff about Corporate Responsibility packages to enable your company to partner with this nature project.
