Restricted to 20 campers at a time, the camp fosters positive relationships and a strong sense of community. Campers are encouraged to try new activities and expand their comfort zones, all within a safe and structured environment. The camps also include an interactive presentation of faith from a Christian perspective, designed to help young people grapple with some of life’s big issues.
Trailblazers camps run at the same time as Kids Camp but with separate accommodation and a completely different programme.
Upon turning 16, Trailblazers campers often go on to become leaders at Kids Camp, where they are able to share their love of camping with a new generation.
Following a successful trial in July 2020, Living Springs will run a Leaders in Training programme twice a year, starting in April 2021. This programme provides an opportunity for a small group of selected Trailblazers to join Kids Camp as LIT’s (Leaders in Training). For five days, the LIT’s will learn practical leadership skills by shadowing a senior camp leader and receiving mentoring from our Trailblazers director. The aim is to prepare campers 14 and 15 years old for the challenge of being a camp leader once they turn 16. We plan to run this programme twice a year, in April and October, alternating with the traditional Trailblazers camp which will run in January and July.
The January 2021 camp will be a traditional Trailblazers programme, open to those 13 -15 who like to have fun and challenge themselves.
