Meridian Donates 1425 Native Plants

Meridian Donates 1425 Native Plants

A massive thanks to Meridian Energy and Christchurch Foundation for the continued support of Living Springs, specifically in helping us with our mission to become an eco-sanctuary.

Last week we were given 1425 native plants to be planted as part of our conservation efforts. Living Springs will be retiring several areas from livestock grazing and restoring them to native forest.

We received 19 different species of native seedlings including various varieties of Coprosma, Pseudopenax ferox (fierce lancewood), Podocarpus tōtara and so many more. The planting of these new seedlings will start in the next few weeks by our dedicated conservation field team.

Meridian has been a huge supporter of Living Springs. In 2021 they donated 5,500 trees to our Forever Forest as a part of the Tui Corridor project. We look forward to our partnership continuing into the future.

If you would like to get involved, we have our first community planting day coming up on the 9th of July (more information coming soon). To find out more or register your interest please contact Anna@livingsprings.co.nz
